Wolf Album all Lyrics:
Nature’s Song
I can feel it seep in, in my veins
I can feel the walls come down as the ravens call my name
I can hear the music nature’s making
Sounds abound, the rhythm’s flowing pure and far from tamed
The chorus moves the setting sun, the trees that sway and dance as one
Breath of wind unites the song
Stillness strums the mood along
This mood, mesmerizing
Carry me away, carry me away
The squirrels take the solo, their shrill unleashed
Mastered by an innate sense that excludes thoughts of defeat
Camouflaged by nothing, harmonies so free
Walls of rules have no place here, it unfolds as it should be
The chorus moves the setting sun, the trees that sway and dance as one
Breath of wind unites the song
Stillness strums the mood along
This mood, mesmerizing
Carry me away, carry me away
Carry me away, carry me away
The Cabin
The logs were laid in sequence near the meadow
Near the meadow they were laid there with their hands
They built their cabin log by log some time ago
With only trees that bear the history of their land
The morning sun’s inside, eight windows let light shine right in
By the door the wood stove waits to usher out the cold
And hanging on the wall their water colour made right here
Of a buck in spring that speaks of days of old
Where the days turn into night
Where it feels like they got it right
Wild and simple cast off the rush
Cherish these times here in the bush
Wonder, wonder
Their wild space just brings me there
Mindful ever after how it clears the air
Time has come, the sundown’s like a serenade
Like a serenade, sundown serenade
Fall colours surround me sitting by the cabin
By the cabin on a wooden deck so fine
Coyotes call, three dear lope by right in front of me
There’s a stream close by and I can see it in my mind
Smell pine and spruce, hear wings that beat high above me
Feel the fresh night air the loft inside is near
In my dreams I know I’ll walk their trails and explore the woods
And maybe in the morn’ I’ll walk farther if I dare
Where the days turn into night
Where it feels like they got it right
Wild and simple cast off the rush
Cherish these times here in the bush
Stone Palace
It was a cold November down by Camelot
And the winds blew strong now
Taking all we got
Once he told his loved one
This I build for you
Our stone palace, inspiration
Mountain meadows, no few
When we follow the path of wildfire
It will humble the greatest of kings
When we think about what used to be
Thank the Yarrow for good memories
Embers danced around us as we watched it burn
Our stone palace, his creation
Mother Nature took her turn
Mountain meadow binding
As it was before
Wrap us now in our landscape
It’s still there and so much more
When we follow the path of wildfire
It will humble the greatest of kings
When we think about what used to be
Thank the Yarrow for good memories
Spirit of Place
If our souls orbit the earth over a piece of the planet
One day I hope that mine makes it here
When time comes for the end and we’ve lived life, we’ve shown it
We go peacefully without any fears
Our souls, they fly above our hearts
Never asking why
So long, while we’re apart
For at night hear the horns, they’re warning of something
Or nothing in darkness they fear
And at night see the stars, they’re telling of something
Our history’s laid out so clear
So I give my heart to you now
Now and forever
But you knew that from yesterday
In our spirit of place that we shared together
You may be gone from the land but I see your face
Our souls, they fly above our hearts
Never asking why
So long, while we’re apart
They fly
Nine Years
You keep your eyes on the trouble that only you could cause yourself
And you’re ok right now, most ok right now
You keep your eyes on the present, living moment by moment
Helping those who stray, those who stray
I keep my eyes on your courage that only you could re-create
For nine years right now, it’s nine years right now
I keep my eyes on the future and maybe this is my mistake
I now learn from your lead
I have what I need, I have what I need
So my brother hear me thank you
Unknowingly you’ve given me inspiration
For you’re ok right now
Coloured Pages
The miles go by, the country blows her mind
Pines so tall and lush with snow she finds
The mountains show their faces to the west
On this backroad in Alberta she likes best
Reverence for the music that she hears
Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits fills the air
Beat by beat she’s getting closer to her goal
Three glorious nights alone in nature where she’ll roam
She’s feeling wild, she’s feeling free in the coloured pages of her story
Memory takes her back to the years she knows as gold
To her great grandma’s land she explored until it sold
Mining thoughts like these she knows is to remind
Change is ever sure as the passing of these miles
Whether near or far, these chapters of our lives
Make us who we are and may memories survive
Blue sky leads her on not a wisp of cloud in sight
When the darkness falls she’ll see the stars this night
She’s feeling wild, she’s feeling free in the coloured pages of her story;
She’s feeling wild, she’s feeling free in the coloured pages of her story
Shooting Stars
Wipe the city from your eyes
December’s darkness comes as no surprise
Below the brightest moon, shines none too soon
Awake your senses
The evening will unfold
Its path is gold, reflecting in the snow
Expecting nothing more than what’s in store
In these wild spaces
You’ve got time on your hands
So wipe the slate clean
Do what you want and be who you mean
Time on your hands, let yourself go
Free for your mind, unleash your soul flow
Splendor in the burning wood
The fire’s aglow, emanating as it should
More tranquil than the past, you’re growing fast
Release pretenses
Shooting stars, the naked truth
Extension of ourselves though there’s not proof
Amid our comfort zone, what we call home
Has evolving faces
You’ve got time on your hands
So wipe the slate clean
Do what you want and be who you mean
Time on your hands, let yourself go
Free for your mind, unleash your soul flow
Change
Some count themselves the lucky ones
Go riding all night when their work is done
No problem here if their saddle’s on right
Better readjust if no end’s in sight
Still too weak, he fell to the floor
Your days are numbered I tell him once more
He says, nothing’s wrong, I’ve laid here before
And tomorrow I’ll change
Some find it hard to see what’s real
Rarely tell you how they truly feel
They bottle it up while their bottle comes out
On a midnight run to a land of doubt
Some are wild yet so aware
Of how land and sea entice to share
Time to empty your cup and let it all in
Put aside what you know and from here begin
Still too weak, he fell to the floor
Your days are numbered I tell him once more
He says, nothing’s wrong, I’ve laid here before
And tomorrow I’ll change
Walk the Distance
Wake up now
Love is knocking at my door
And love is welcome here
For what I feel is love for you
Open wide
Telling all that comes to mind
From the heart there is no end
This is real, you’re my best friend
Take my hand and walk the shore
Or the mountain meadow at our core
Across the miles upon this land
Walk the distance with our hand in hand
Once in a while
Our lives get turned right upside down
To begin again as new
That’s how it was when I met you
Within strong will
Comes the means to reach the sky
Soaring higher than we’ve known
That’s how it is as our love grows
Take my hand and walk the shore
Or the mountain meadow at our core
Across the miles upon this land
Walk the distance with our hand in hand
Take my hand and walk the shore
Or the mountain meadow at our core
Across the miles upon this land
Walk the distance with our hand in hand
Wolf
Wolf’s journey began a long time ago
When howling echoed through the night
And mountain berries grew on the branches
Not a city light in sight
At the heart of our wild spaces
Wolf has survived despite our past
Misunderstood throughout the ages
We owe wolf love and care at last
Wolf has many in its society
Where respect and duty make things right
And business comes before wolf’s pleasure
Intuition saves him from the fight
At the heart of our wild spaces
Wolf has survived despite our past
Misunderstood throughout the ages
We owe wolf love and care at last
Many people could learn a thing or two
About how wolf loves with all his might
Giving his all, gives the pack his best in truth
In times of plenty or in strife
At the heart of our wild spaces
Wolf has survived despite our past
Misunderstood throughout the ages
We owe wolf love and care at last
Blessings
Snow is falling on the mountain side
We’re so lucky to be playing here, so lucky to be loving here
Stop for no one who may not share this view
Today’s entitlement is rancid and there’s things taken for granted
I think I’ll slow down and take a look around
At every moment of our making, forgive myself for all the taking
Feel the freedom, the breeze, the mountain air
We’re so lucky to be skiing here, so lucky to be living here
Count your blessings, count your blessings
